Identity..

Oh, that we would know who we really are!
Romans 8:19 For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God.

Sit with this for a minute.  I believe there is multi-faceted depth in this verse - yes, we will be revealed when Christ returns, but I also believe this "now" passage.

The LORD has been teaching me about who I am, who we are, in Him.  There is so much that hinders our ability to believe His Word to us.  Life stuff, heartbreak, shame, sin, pride, abuse, neglect...
It is in the Light of Christ which we find out true selves.  It is in the Light of His Grace & Mercy that we are freed to live as He called us to live.  Lives of victory, lives of influence, lives of LOVE.  Overflowing, outrageous, radical, counter-culture, mind blowing LOVE!  It is there that we are truly free.  There, surrendered to the life that God planed for us before time even began.

I am having such a hard time not writing a novel on this single thought because it changes EVERYTHING!!!!  EVERY THING!!! People, can you receive this??? This single thought, taken to the innermost place changes EVERYTHING!  So today, I leave you to ponder, to taste this single thought.

Oh, savor it, let it have its full way with you, let it have you. Let it take you where you have never been.  Let Holy Spirit have His way.

All creation longs for you to know who you are!  Why?  Well, that's another thought.....  Just know that if you let yourself believe who God says you are, you'll begin to know the reason why creation longs for us.........

Oh, May the God of our fathers, send you a double portion of faith!

  2. This verse keeps coming up in my life...and you've hit the nail on the head...when We (I) know who we are in Christ we will bring healing to the nations...the power of God will be revealed in us and many will flock to Him because of it!!....Sue

Buying Time

The world will tell you that “time is money.”
In part, it’s true.  Every moment is precious and we can only spend it once.  We sell off bits of the gift of time, our life, to buy things that we think add to our happiness here.  I don’t know about you, but I’ve become dissatisfied with this exchange.  This spending of the most precious to gain the fleeting.  I’ve not bought into the American “bigger/more is better” but it’s so easy to just slip into the daily-ness of life here that we can’t remember how we actually spent the past week, month, year…  Same old, same old as the sand slips quickly through the hourglass.  Oh, wealth can afford you to hire people to free up some of your time, but you have to maintain the wealth, that takes time.
But what if I told you that you could buy more time. How much would you want? What would you be willing to sell to buy it?
The paradigm shift comes when you realize that Timeis the most valuable commodity on earth.  It’s easy, from this perspective…

Flying

Flying - 5/25/18 the first day of the rest of my life and there is a beautiful blank canvas before me...
That used to scare me, now I’m just timid about the first stroke. But the palette is being prepared for the Master and His work is always beautiful, so I rest as  I wait.
Metaphors will abound today, for I love them! They breathe life into our limited language and paint deeper understanding in our minds.;-)
Last night, as I drove away from HDC, the place & people who have been my home for over 13 years, my heart broke and it was a Gilgal moment. Remembering the pulling into the parking lot for the first time over 18 years ago, now leaving it for the last time…So, so much life has happened in between! And God in His faithfulness to me, bound me up in short time and as I blew a blessed kiss and waved goodbye the tears began cease and my heart, held fast within His loving hands, overflowed with gratitude for the great gift, actually a desire of my heart that I expressed on that firs…

Bathing in the Word of God - Mercy et al

Bathing in the Word of God
Sitting, soaking in the living Word of God, letting It have Its way in our life cleanses us, invigorates us and prepares us for life - both here and eternal. (Sensing that this is just the beginning of a series,  hope it gives you a fresh perspective and appreciation for His Word.) Imagine an old claw-footed porcelain tub and imagine you in it as the Word and Words of God are poured out over you. This, the first bath, you are drenched with Mercy, it hits fresh and weighty causing your grateful hands to be raised as you humbly wipe your face, seeing yourself as you really are, maybe even for the first time – grimy little urchin grasping at life and yet empty-handed. And just as your eyes begin to see afresh and before shame can consume, Grace is poured long and slow, inviting you to lather up, let it wash away the filth. And the lather fills the tub and overflows as Grace has its way and as Forgiveness is seeped in you lay back and take a slow breath all warm a…
